Alison Bates

Alison concentrates her practice in Matrimonial and Family Law where she represents clients in separation and divorce, child support and custody, and spousal support. Alison frequently represents business owners or their spouses in divorce actions because she has extensive experience with complicated asset valuation and division. When she is not practicing law, Alison can be found teaching as an adjunct professor of Family Law at Nazareth College. Alison also dedicates a portion of her practice to serving as an Attorney for Children and as a Court Examiner or Attorney for Alleged Incapacitated Persons in Guardianship proceedings. In addition to more than a decade of experience in private practice, Alison has worked as a Confidential Law Clerk for a Family Court Judge and has sat as an Arbitrator in Small Claims Court. Alison’s unique experience in those positions provides her insight into the inner workings of the court system. Alison prides herself on her fast responses to her clients’ calls and emails, keeping them informed throughout the case. Alison is a graduate of the University at Albany and Albany Law School.
